Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB)
« Back to Glossary IndexInterpersonal neurobiology (IPNB),also known as relational neurobiology, is a research framework, developed in the 1990s by psychiatrist Daniel Siegel, to study the interconnected-ness of brain, mind, relationships. Drawing on neuroscience, psychology, and attachment theory, IPNB is based on two knowns: the brain grows throughout life, and relationships/social connections have a significant impact on mental health. IPNB therapy helps:
- Improve relationships to people understand each other better and resolve conflict.
- Learn more effectively and help educators create better learning environments.
- Build strong teams in business.
- Heal trauma by stimulating the brain with positive persuasion
