Transgender or Trans

Transgender or Trans is a broad term describing people with non-corresponding gender identity — a different gender than they were given at birth. Trans person are not accepted by mainstream society, making it more important to treat them with respect. One way  is to refer to them by their current gender identity, not their sex at birth.
