Transdiagnostic
« Back to Glossary IndexA “transdiagnostic revolution” in understanding neurodevelopmental conditions and other mental health difficulties cuts across traditional diagnostic systems (like DSM-5) or eliminates distinctions how mental disorders are classified altogether. It’s a cross-diagnostic approach that allows for thinking differently about onset, maintenance, clinical treatment, and recovery from disabling forms of mental distress. Transdiagnosing neuro-disorders better helps individuals and families adjust health behaviors, social networks, and education/work routines.
