Sensory Craving/Seeking:

« Back to Glossary Index

Sensory cravings/seeking, a subtype of sensory modulation disorder (SMD), are notable by an almost insatiable desire for sensory stimulation, include fidgeting, constant movement and jumping, crashing, making loud or disturbing noises, or impulsiveness — as well as sensorimotor-based problems (slow, uncoordinated movements or poor handwriting). Sensory seekers may be overly affectionate and may have ADHD.
