Self-Aspect

« Back to Glossary Index

Self-aspects of our self-identity (or self-concept) focuses on the specific facets or dimensions of ourselves. While self-identity is the entire picture of how we perceive ourself, self-aspect is zooming in on particular features — how we see our own capabilities, role in society, or physical appearance. Both self-identity and self-aspect are integral to how we maintain a coherent sense of identity and our place in the world. Also see Self-Awareness,
