Parietal Cortex:

« Back to Glossary Index

The parietal cortex, within the parietal lobe, integrates sensory data it receives from general senses (touch, pressure, pain, position, vibration, temperature) — and calculates the location and speed of objects. It’s also responsible for spatial processing and manipulation (understanding how to navigate around home or town) and for the somatosensory cortex (receives/assesses the body’s sensory or “feeling” information).
