Osmoreceptors:

Osmoreceptors in the hypothalamus, related to chemoreceptors, regulate sodium and water balance to maintain osmotic pressure so cells can function. Increased salt intake leads to rising sodium concentration and rapid distribution in the body. The body reacts to increases by stimulating thirst for increased water intake. Also see Sensory Receptors
