Neuromodulation Therapy:

« Back to Glossary Index

Neuromodulation therapies deliver electrical stimulation or chemical agents to neurological sites in the body to alter how nerves carry information to and from the brain. It can help treat neurological/neuropsychiatric disorders, such as cluster headaches, tremors, spinal cord damage, pain, mobility, treatment-resistant anxiety and depression, PTSD, OCD, and panic disorder. Neuromodulation is a broader and slower change in brain function than neurostimulation which stimulates the brain and refers to the electromagnetic approaches to neuromodulation.
