Nervous System:
« Back to Glossary IndexThe nervous system — brain, spinal cord, nerves — is the body’s command center that receives and send messages as electrical signals. These signals tell us to breathe, move, speak, see, and regulate complicated cognitive processes like thought and memory. The nervous system keeps track of what’s going on inside/outside of the body and decides how to respond. It’s also responsible for unconscious functions, like blushing, sweating, and blinking.
