Narcissistic Sociopath:

« Back to Glossary Index

narcissistic sociopath — combining traits of both narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) — is characterized by grandiosity, need for admiration and fragile ego, lack of empathy, disregard for social norms, and manipulation. While not a clinical diagnosis, the term is useful in describing individuals showing signs of these comorbid personality disorders. The narcissistic sociopath is driven by a desire for power, control, and exploits others for personal gain, with little remorse or regard for the consequences. Treatment is extremely challenging, as narcissistic sociopaths don’t recognize or accept having a problem.
