Obstacles in reading, writing, organizing, recalling, or reasoning affect attention, social skills, or coordination. They’re usually discovered after a child starts school and experiences difficulty compared to age-level peers. These learning difficulties sometimes present as a gap between potential and achievement, since learning disorders don’t mean children lack academic motivation or intelligence. But their brains process and receive information differently.
