Gender Role:

Gender roles are socially accepted behaviors and attitudes for individuals based on their sex. With exceptions, gender roles are usually centered on traditional conceptions of masculinity and femininity. Gender roles influence a person’s choice of clothing, profession, manner of approach to things, personal relationships, and how they act within those relationships. Although gender roles have evolved and expanded, in many societies they tend to keep women in the “private” sphere and men in the “public” one. Also see Gender Identity
