Executive Attention Impairment

Executive attention impairment entails problems with concentration, task switching, and managing distractions, associated with ADHD or brain injuries affecting the frontal lobe. Signs include difficulty staying focused on a task for extended periods, easily distracted by irrelevant stimuli, trouble switching between tasks efficiently, poor organizational skills, difficulty prioritizing tasks, and impulsivity and poor decision-making. Other conditions associated with impaired executive attention are autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), depression, and dementia. Also see Cognitive Control Impairment
