Electroreceptors

Electroreceptors are sensory receptors that can sense any change in the electric field. Sharks and stingrays can detect electric fields generated by moving water, which helps them catch prey, navigate, and defend themselves. Some fish with electric organs for defense can deliver a high-voltage shock. Electroreceptors are used to identify the opposite sex.
