Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-4):

« Back to Glossary Index

DSM-4, updated in 1994 by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), is the first edition developed with significant input from the mental health field and the World Health Organization (WHO), as WHO was developing its tenth revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10). As a result, DSM-4 is a great improvement over the third/revised editions (DSM-3, DSM-3-R).
