Conversion or Reparative Therapy

Conversion or reparative therapy is a dangerous, discredited pseudo-scientific practice targeting vulnerable LGBTQ+ youth to change their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression to align with heterosexual and cisgender norms. Though rejected for decades, conversion tactics are still used due to continuing discrimination and societal bias. It can lead to depression, anxiety, drug use, homelessness, and suicide. It’s outlawed in nearly half the states, D.C., and Puerto Rico, along with 70 cities/counties in other states.
