Conformity

Conformity in social perception is a form of social influence where individuals change their behavior due to the influence of others around them, driven by a desire to be liked and accepted by the group. Conformity leads to normative social influence, where individuals conform to the group’s norms even if they disagree. Another reason is informational social influence—believing the group knows more or is correct.
