Behavioral Dysregulation

Behavioral dysregulation are harmful behaviors resulting from an inability to control emotional impulses or actions. It can be a symptom of mental health conditions, trauma, brain damage, and can include: binge eating, seeking excessive social reassurance, self-harm, substance abuse, acting out, and aggression. Behavioral dysregulation results in negative bodily states, social problems and difficulty connecting in relationships, and violence toward others. Also see Affect Dysregulation
