Dark Personality

A dark personality is a psychological term for a pattern of socially undesirable traits and behaviors, notably the dark tetrad of narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism. People with dark personalities tend to be selfish, self-centered, manipulative, and lacking in empathy, with a tendency to exploit or even harm others. These subclinical traits (not severe enough to be diagnosed as a clinical disorder but fall on the edge of typical functioning) can lead to negative psychosocial outcomes, such as social problems and selfish behaviors.
